Mr. Rifkin was invited to give the
keynote speech by the European Commission Secretary-General, Catherine Day,
at the annual meeting of the European Commission Secretariat-General. The
event was attended by the 23 Director Generals and 600+ senior staff of the
executive branch of the European Union.
In his presentation, Mr. Rifkin outlined a series of recommendations for
restructuring EU programs and initiatives to facilitate a coherent and
unified approach to the EU becoming the world’s first economic superpower to
make the transition to a renewable energy, hydrogen economy in the first
half of the 21st century.
