Keynote Address with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier

On September 19^th, Mr. Rifkin was the guest speaker at the Transatlantic Dialogue, sponsored by The House of World Cultures in Berlin.  Mr. Rifkin presented a keynote address along with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to an assemblage of government leaders, diplomats, and business leaders.  In his remarks, Mr. Rifkin contrasted the European and American dreams, and suggested that the European frame of mind on sustainable development gives the European Union the edge in leading the world into a post-carbon era based upon renewable energies, a hydrogen economy, and intelligent power grid generation.  Mr. Rifkin called on Germany to lead the world into a third industrial revolution.
