Keynote Speech: "The European Dream"

Mr. Rifkin gave the keynote speech at the 1^st European Youth Summit in commemoration of the 50^th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. 

Over 200 young participants from the 27 Member States took part. A number of EU leaders were also present including: Romano Prodi, Italian Prime Minister; Margot Wallström, Vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for institutional relations and communication strategy; Jan Figel, European Commissioner for education, training, culture and youth; and Pat Cox, President of the European Movement.
