Mr. Rifkin was chosen as one of the twenty-one most influential opinion leaders of our time to speak at the 2nd Congress of Brilliant Minds, where he along with other thinkers, scientists, and Nobel prize-winners had twenty one minutes to give a presentation. During Mr. Rifkin’s portion, he spoke on how The Third Industrial Revolution will create thousands of businesses and millions of jobs, and usher in a fundamental reordering of human relationships, from hierarchical to lateral power, that will impact the way we conduct business, govern society, educate our children, and engage in civic life.

Nuhma works on behalf of the municipalities of Belgian Limburg for sustainability, energy, and innovation through targeted investments. Mr. Rifkin highlighted the current advances creating the shift toward the Third Industrial Revolution.

UNIDO General Conference
Vienna, Austria, 28 November, 2011
Mr. Rifkin gave the keynote address at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) biennial general conference in Vienna. The General Conference is the supreme legislative body of UNIDO and is comprised of all 174 of its Member States. This year, the event carried the overarching theme “The New Industrial Revolution: Making it sustainable”. The theme of the conference focused on the three dimensions of sustainability: environmental, economic, and social. The event brought together hundreds of participants including Heads of State and Government, Ministers and other high-level government officials from around the world as well as senior representatives of other United Nations organizations, prominent leaders from the corporate sector, civil society and academia.

This year at the Smart Cities Expo in Barcelona, Jeremy Rifkin presented a keynote lecture on the upcoming Third Industrial Revolution. He opened with a provocative presentation on the role of “smart cities” in spearheading the emerging Third Industrial Revolution.

Abitare il Futuro
Potenza, Italy; 2 December, 2011
During the Abitare il Future event in Potenza, Italy, Mr. Rifkin presented a keynote address on the theme “Living in the Future: The Development of a Green Economy.” The event gathered ministers and other high level individuals from all over Italy to discuss the future of digital computing, energy policy, and the implementation of a Green Economy.
