"The Future of Work? — Of What We Live and For What We Work"
Berlin, Germany, 7 March 2006
Mr. Rifkin was the honored guest of Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany, at the Berliner Gespräche, on March 7, 2006. The Chancellor hosted a debate between Mr. Rifkin and Professor Hans-Werner Sinn, Germany's leading neo-liberal economist, on "The Future of Work". In his remarks, Mr. Rifkin suggested that Germany and other countries around the world begin to rethink the nature of work, itself, in an increasingly automated global economy.
