Editorial Assistant:The Office of Jeremy Rifkin is accepting applications for a specialized intern to work as an editorial assistant, working closely with the President and staff on an upcoming major publication and several other key projects. This position will serve as an excellent introduction to the publication industry, as the editorial assistant will gain experience in several of the editorial and administrative dimensions of the publication process. Central Responsibilities: proofread and edit documents to ensure quality control and consistency, verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources, perform various administrative tasks associated with publication, manage manuscripts and working drafts and maintain an archive of completed work. Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; superior organization and attention to detail; ability to work independently or with direction; familiarity with Microsoft Office software. College student or recent graduate with a commitment to public interest preferred. Hours: The internship is available full-time (9:00am-5:00pm) or part-time, with a minimum of 20 hours per week commitment. Compensation: The internship is unpaid, however transportation costs in the greater DC area will be covered. |
