Social Media Marketing Intern:

The Office of Jeremy Rifkin is looking for a dynamic and self-driven socially media marketing intern to lead the develop and implementation of marketing initiatives, utilizing the various forms of social media, such as Facebook, twitter, the blogosphere, etc.

In addition to receiving hands-on marketing experience, this specialized intern will have the opportunity to work with one of the world's leading public intellectuals, Mr. Jeremy Rifkin.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the management of our social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr.
  • Developing and implementing social media campaigns to drive increased customer involvement, build followers and drive online sales
  • Answering customer posts on social media channels
  • Researching the latest social media sites and best practices
  • Assisting with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) through social media by reviewing blog links, tagging, RSS feeds, etc.
  • Analyzing the competitive marketplace, including monitoring competitor websites and social media campaigns

Successful candidates should be self-starters who are comfortable in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is the daily norm; transition easily from working as a team player to working independently without micromanagement; and strive for perfection with a desire to grow and learn from the experience

Qualifications:

  • College student or recent graduate with a commitment to public interest preferred
  • Computer and Internet savvy. Proficient in Office Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel)- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and good follow through skills
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and prioritize

Hours:

The Internship is available full-time (9:00am-5:00pm) or part-time, with a minimum of 20 hours per week commitment.

Compensation:

The internship is unpaid, however transportation costs in the greater DC area will be covered.
